This NBA season, Stephen Curry, has been taking the basketball world by storm. It seems like everyday, he is breaking a new record. Sometimes, the records are ones that he already set. A lot of veterans and retired players attempt to make comparisons to him, but they are clearly jealous. This guy is putting up stats beyond video game numbers.
This season isn’t a fluke either, he brought home the bacon last season after defeating Lebron James and the Cavs in the championship series. Curry’s play was unreal and Lebron was left baffled still seeking that championship for his hometown of Cleveland. He did win two in Miami after making the controversial “decision” broadcast on ESPN. Some would say that move ruined his reputation.
The Chef Curry Storm
This past week, Curry hit more 3s than most people hit in their entire careers. He has already broken his single season record for total 3-point field goals in a season with a good chunk of games remaining on the schedule. Currently, his 3 pt FG % is 46.8 which is absolutely ridiculous. A lot of his 3s come from way behind the three3-point arc too.
He is amazing people so much these days, those arenas are getting packed across the country just to see him play. Who doesn’t want to see a guy who can swish 3s from half court consistently?
In his last meeting with Oklahoma City, he hit a buzzer beater 3 to win in overtime. He completed the game with a record tying 12 3-point field goals in one game. In the game before, he hit 10 3s against Orlando. No one has ever put up numbers quite like that consistently.
Greatest Basketball Player of All Time?
If he keeps us this pace, Curry has the potential to be the greatest basketball player of all time. Even surpassing the infamous Michael Jordan. We can all agree, it was most likely more fun to watch Mike, but Curry is putting up stats that not even the best ever put up.
It will be interesting to see if Curry will continue this streak throughout his career. He may single-handedly force the NBA to move back the 3-point line, but with his range they’d have to move it to the other side of the court.
